Welcome!

My photo

I am a very quiet person that dabbles in many hobbies.  I have found writing to be my passion to take me away from my stress and help me relax.  Very family oriented, I enjoy spending time with family and friends doing a big cookout or just having a good round of sister talk with the girls. I take each and blessing as a gift and never question why things happen.  We have to take the good with the bad to complete ourselves as a person.

Smashwords

"Obsessive/Obsession" is now available on Smashwords for $2.00.  Download a free sample for iPod, Apple, Nook or other e-reading devices for free.  Check out Barnes & Noble for Nook downloads or www.smashwords.com

Congratulations to Plaid Sabbath

I would like to congratulate a good friend of mine, Wade Mitchell (also my boss but we are off the clock) and his band Plaid-Sabbath for scoring a gig at The House of Blues on St. Patrick's Day.  They will be performing from the hours of 1:00 to 2:30 that afternoon.  If you are in downtown Cleveland and looking to hear a good band performing great Celtic/Scottish music, stop in and take a listen.

Check out their website for more information and booking engagements: www.plaid-sabbath.com.

Plug Plug Plug

As a self-publisher, I'm plugging myself and my book again...sigh.  I actually like coming up with new ideas on making myself available to the public.  For Valentine's Day or the month of February, I will be dropping the cost of Obsessive/Obsession to $0.99 again.  If you are getting that someone special in your life a unique gift such as a Kindle or Nook or any type of eReader instead of the more traditional gift of flowers and candy, get them a copy of my romantic/suspense novel to go along with it.

Also, "Obsessive/Obsession" is available at http://www.smashwords.com/ for a free 20% download before you buy.  There are multiple formats available if you don't have Kindle.

On an unrelated note, I would like thank the readers that have purchased my book. I have been able to gain a nice readership in the United States and Internationally and hope to continue that growth. I am available for book clubs and speaking engagements and can be reached by email toyebrown@netzero.net or drop me a line on my blog or on my website http://www.toyesbrown.webs.com/.  We can discuss such topics as "Obsessive/Obsession" or how to get started in writing your book.

Hope to hear from you soon!

A Quick Shoutout

For those that aren't into reading books on hand-held devices, "Obsessive/Obsession" is still available on my website for $6.99.  Also if you prefer to shop at Barnes & Noble its available there, although not on Nook.  I haven't figured out how to get the book published for that device yet. If you know how to go about doing that please drop me a line.

I'll be uploading a few chapters of my second book "Nayla's Dilemma - The Ends of Justice" and would love feedback if I can get anyone to help me with that.  All feedback will be taken seriously.  I'm also plugging the Dayton Book Expo coming in April.  Please come and meet and mingle with the new and seasoned authors that will be there.  Hopefully Spring will arrive early and the weather will be good for that event.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Gearing Up 2011

The holidays are over and time to move on with the New Year.  I want to first thank all the new Kindle receivers for purchasing my book and keeping me on the bestsellers list on Amazon in the United States and the United Kingdom.  I would never have dreamed that possible but for the month of December I made both these bestsellers lists.   Even though the sales are ending on the majority of ebooks, "Obsession/Obsession" is still a cheap read for $1.99 so please keep reading the free download and purchasing the ebook.

As I prepare for my Dayton book expo in April, I have to assess what I will do differently than what I did in 2010.  After the Detroit event I thought I had time to prepare for this trip but time really files when you have a schedule to keep.  Santa was nice to me by bringing me a new set of luggage and a day planner to organize my events better this year.  No more carrying books in boxes or balancing events on post-it notes for me.  Also, my second book is completed and in final draft review with my proofreaders.  I will upload a snippet as soon as I get the final back.

I will be in touch as the event moves closer and I lose my wits trying to prepare for it.
